Just watched "Art of the Steal" (on Netflix) about the Barnes Collection in PA and how it was 'stolen' and moved to Philly. Makes you wonder what good is a will? It is interesting how politicians love art when they view it as a commodity. Too bad most of them don't think about the impact funding LIVING artists can have on their communities. Great film, makes me also think about the current battle against the new CSU Stadium in Fort Collins. The odds are against them as much as it was against those hoping the collection would not be moved to Philly. Lots to think about.
P.s. This painting, one of my favorites by VanGoh is included, I guess it makes it easier for me to see it in person.
