Pianos About Town is looking for artists and organizations who can use piano parts, after they've been decommissioned from the program. Many parts can be creatively re-used for art projects, take apart days, or maker spaces. We have hammers, keys, sound boards, etc.
Come see what we have and pick up parts by appointment.
Let us know if you are interested by emailing Liz Good at lgood@fcgov.com or calling 970-416-2646.

STEAMfest!

FCMOA is Starting a Bookclub! How cool is that?

Did you know FCMOA is going to be starting a book club? Our very first meeting with be on November 10 and we'll discuss The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver in connection with our exhibition Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray.

This is how you treat Artists when you ask them to 'donate' work for your charity

This was passed on to me by Bonnie Lebesch.  It is an excellent example of how organizations should approach artists for donations....with respect and something more than "great exposure' (Don't ever, ever say that)

Benefits for donating artists:

· Visibility of artwork, bio, and website to the auction jury and audience, plus social media and email promotion for selected works

· One free artist ticket to attend the auction ($250 value includes seated dinner and all-night drinks) –OR– 20% commission on sold art and $50 artist ticket

· One $100 guest ticket ($250 value)

· Auction orientation and networking workshop and happy hour with Artist Trust staff

· A one-year Artist Trust membership ($45 value), which provides savings on Artist Trust business practice programs and discounts at regional arts businesses and museums

· Infinite gratitude from Artist Trust’s staff and board and the thousands of artists we serve each year

The next time you get asked to donate, send them to this link.....

2016 Fort Collins Fringe Festival September 15, 16, & 17, 2016

You never know what you are going to experience at the next Fringe Festival! Because of the open and unjuried structure of Fringe, festival goers can expect to see many original works in everything from theater to dance to film and more. Most pieces are short one-act pieces so festival goers can see several performances over the course of an evening at the festival. Pieces are kept technically simple in most cases, which helps keep the cost of the festival low. And with unique and exciting venues like the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery Otterbox Digital Dome, it’s easy to get involved in the Fort Collins Fringe Festival, either as a performer or as an attendee.
