Jennie Milner takes awesome notes
Here is her take on the keynote speaker at the CCI Confrence lat week. Suzi Q. Smith is a poet from Denver, and as you can see her talk was very inspiring. How about you? Did you attend CCI? How did you feel about it? Inspired? Disheartened?
Hi Elizabeth. I sat next to Jennie during lunch that day and thoroughly enjoyed Suzie Q and her inspiring words. It was impossible to not be moved by her presence and her poetry. I was only able to attend 2 of the sessions of the conference, but both were quite informative. We had some silliness with the tiny video lesson, but I really did learn a lot at the talk that morning by the 2 art dealers from Denver. I left with a completely new view of galleries and what the market is like out there. They were high end galleries, and the end message was more like, you ain't got a chance at getting in here. So it does get me thinking about where my work fits, where to aim in this small arena of Northern Colorado.
