Changes (for the better) for the MOA Masks exhibit

Changes for 2016 entries will be capped at 175 and juried.
Due to the incredible creativity of Masks artist participants and the enduring interest in the Masksproject, the numbers of exhibited masks has consistently grown each year. For 2014, the gallery space was at capacity at 199 masks exhibited. For 2016, FCMOA would like to cap the number of exhibited masks at 175 to enhance the curation of the exhibition and to display the masks at their best.
This would mean a jury selection process depending on the number of masks entries received for 2016. The juror will be a Northern Colorado arts professional who is not directly tied to the museum in any staff, Board or volunteer capacity past or present. The criteria for the jury selection is: originality, use of materials and imagination. There is a chance that some mask entries will not be chosen for the exhibition and silent auction.

This is great news.  A juried show will bring out the best in everyone.  They are also planning a 'thank You party for the artists that donate a mask.  Count me in! How about you?  Visit their website for more info.
