OPEN ADMISSION DAYS & OCTOBER EVENTS AT THE FORT COLLINS MUSEUM OF ART

The Fort Collins Museum of Art announced five upcoming open admission days for October during Norman Rockwell’s 323 Saturday Evening Post Covers. Open admission days are a chance for the community to visit exhibitions free of admission charge thanks to the generosity of sponsors. We believe that a strong arts and culture presence is essential for a healthy community. The goal of Open Admission Days is to provide access to FCMOA's exhibitions and programs to the widest possible audience.

In addition to Open Admission Days, the Museum is also hosting educational lectures about Norman Rockwell. One of the most popular American artists of the past century, Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) was a keen observer of human nature and a gifted storyteller. For nearly seven decades, while history was being made all around him, Rockwell chronicled our changing society in the small details and nuanced scenes of ordinary people in everyday life. Norman Rockwell’s 323 Saturday Evening Post Covers has been organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

"The Submission" at the Center for Fine Art Photography

The Submission:

"...grabs the audience and doesn't let go..."
-Hollywood Reporter

by Jeff Talbott
playing October 9 through October 24 @8 p.m. at the Center for Fine Art Photography 400 N. College Ave.

The Submission is unabashed and unapologetic in the way it asks really tough questions. Questions about the assumptions we make, questions about our own prejudices and the way they color our perceptions.

In an email to Artistic Director Denise Freestone, author Jeff Talbot explained, "I wrote THE SUBMISSION with a couple of small, quiet hopes:  (a) to highlight our increasingly complicated relationship with the words we use when we talk to each other (and maybe about each other) and (b) to start a conversation in the audience about how we might try to get a little better at it.  It's a conversation we desperately need to keep having."

openstage etc produces raw, intimate, cutting-edge theatre in non-traditional venues. Come experience theatre up close and personal. Seating is extremely limited, so be sure to reserve your seat soon!

To make reservations for The Submission call 970.221.6730 or visit lctix.com
All tickets: $15
For more information about upcoming shows visit openstage.com

The Submission contains adult language

Backstage Magazine called The Submission "Fearless, whip-smart, and hyper-articulate. . ."
Remember that conversation you're not supposed to have at dinner? We're having it in this unabashed and unapologetic comedy. So that his play might stand a chance at one of America's most prestigious theatre festivals, young, gay, white playwright Danny hires the young, straight, black actress Emilie to pose as the author of his play about an African American family trying to get out of the projects. The results are both catastrophic and humorous as this sensational new play exposes the underbelly of prejudice in modern America.
