Pop UP Museum Exhibit: CSU Meets Africa

CSU Meets Africa features the cultural exploration of a partnership between the LEAP (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Arts Advocacy and the Public) Institute for the Arts and the CSU Art Department.  Students traveled to QwaQwa region in South Africa.
Art objects, the artistic creations of school children, videos of the Museum project and more are showcased.  "The four week immersion by CSU students on this study abroad trip resulted in rich learning experiences for all the students involved," said Dr. Constance DeVereaux, Director of the LEAP Institute for the Arts and one of three faculty leaders for the trip.  She added, "We want to share those experiences with a wider public.  This exhibit is our opportunity to do that."

The exhibit is organized and curated by LEAP graduate students enrolled in LEAP 500 – Leadership in the Arts.  It will take place at the Global Village Museum, 200 West Mountain Ave, with an opening reception on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5:30 – 7:30pm, and will be open Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 11 – 5 pm.  Free admission to Pop Up Museum Exhibit;  half-priced admission for Global Village Museum.
