Call for Entries Artworks Loveland is currently accepting entries for the upcoming Photography Unsettled exhibtion

About the call:
Artworks Loveland will be participating in Month of Photography Denver! MoP is a Colorado-based biennial celebration of fine art photography with hundreds of collaborative public events throughout Denver and the region. The theme for MoP 2017 is “Up to the Edge.” This theme serves as an exploration of the far-reaching applications and concepts emerging in photography today.

Photography Unsettled aims to showcase the wide range in contemporary artists' practice which features photography in some way, as well as the many mediums of art which are mixing with photography so that it belongs less and less to a specific medium or category. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit up to three pieces which illustrate this theme. Artworks is seeking mixed media works as well as works which use photography in an unconventional way. Although mixed media works will be accepted, photography must be the main component of the accepted pieces.

Applications will be reviewed by juror Kia Neill and curators Bre Nielsen and Ronda Stone. Two prize-winning pieces will be selected during a blind jury process. $250 will be awarded to the artist who is selected as the Juror’s Choice and $150 to the artist who is selected as the Curators’ Choice.

The application can be found online at: https://artworksloveland.submittable.com/submit. The application deadline is January 2, and there is a $25 application fee.

About the Juror:

Kia Neill is a multidiscipline artist working in mixed media drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Neill has lived and worked in a number of cities throughout the U.S. as a professional artist doing public and private commissions, exhibitions, lectures, jurying and teaching college and continuing education for 15 years.

Neill is native to Chicago Illinois, received her MFA from The University of California, San Diego, and relocated to Denver CO in 2014 from Houston Texas, where she was Full-time Faculty of 7 years at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston Glassell School of Art.  Neill currently teaches at the University of Denver School of Art and Art History, and in the Breckenridge Arts District.
