Little Shop of Physics Hosts Open House

Free and open to the public. Hands-On Science Fun for All Ages. With over 300 experiments, liquid nitrogen ice cream, the million volt tesla coil, science partners and presentations!

For our 25th Anniversary we're pulling out all the stops. If you've been thinking of coming to Open House, 2016 is the year to do it! Please spread the word and help make this year's Open House the best ever!

Presentations
Interactive presentations will held in the Lory Student Center North Ballroom every hour during the day. Our presenters are visiting science educators from near and far, including the Jærmuseet Science Circus in Norway, Xraise in Cornell and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Here’s the complete schedule for the day:

Science Spectacles
Designed to be big and fun, with lots of science and not much talking. Some of these are so big that we have to do them outside!

The Physics Bus
The Physics Bus is based out of Ithaca, NY, and is currently touring the country sharing their hands-on science awesomeness with folks near and far. They will be set up at the Lory Student Center Plaza from 12:30-2:30.

Lakota Star Lab
We are lucky to be joined by some folks from Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. They will be bringing their inflatable star lab and giving several unique presentations which meld traditional Lakota star knowledge with modern astronomy. They will be set up in the LSC Theatre. Space is extremely limited, and this experience is only open to the first 20 people during each presentation.
Presentations are at: 10:00, 11:00, 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30.
