2016 Mountain Standard Clay - CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibition Dates: April 16 - June 12, 2016

Building on the success of over 30 previous clay exhibitions, FAC is pleased to announce the official call to artists for our 2016 Mountain Standard Clay. This exhibition replaces Foothills Art Center’s longstanding biennial exhibition, Colorado Clay. Included in this exhibition will be artists all who hail from the Mountain Standard Time Zone states.

FAC’s goal is to showcase clay in a way that goes well beyond functional objects and into the realm of fine art with this exhibition. FAC has invited several highly accomplished artists who are truly doing exciting and new things with clay to participate in the exhibition. The invited artists include K Rhyus Cesark (CO), Samuel Chung (AZ), Jason Kishell (TX), and Claire McArdle (CO). The remaining objects will be selected by juror, Peter Held.

Artists are encouraged to take a creative approach to clay, going beyond traditional expressions to explore the creative fringes of the medium where fine art and craft merge. FAC will recognize the quality and innovative work being produced by contemporary ceramic artists and will expose audiences to the wide variety of expressions possible within the medium.
