CCI Call for Grant Panelists

Colorado Creative Industries (CCI) is seeking advisory review panelists for the FY16 Colorado Creates grant program. Panelists are integral to CCI's grants process. They review applications, provide comments, and score applications in order to recommend recipients of CCI grant awards.

Colorado Creates is Colorado Creative Industries' largest grant program. This award provides financial support to help nonprofit cultural organizations and communities produce arts and cultural activities, bringing jobs to their communities and enhancing the quality of life. In the last grant competition, 162 grants were awarded totaling just over $1,000,000 across the state.

The grant is reviewed annually in the months of July and August through a peer review process modeled after the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Selected panelists will demonstrate expertise through involvement in one or more sectors of the creative economy in Colorado. Panelists include artists, arts administrators, and community leaders who represent diverse geographic, ethnic, philosophical and aesthetic perspectives. Panelists are selected from each defined region to conduct an online review of applications which generally takes between 15 - 30 hours. Next, panel members meet at an all-day, in-person meeting in July or August to discuss and recommend applications for funding. The panel review role is a volunteer position, however, travel (meals, lodging, mileage etc.) will be covered when applicable.

NOTE: Current Colorado Creates applicants are not eligible to serve as panelists; however, applicants are encouraged to review during an organizations "sit out" year.

Residents of Colorado are encouraged to nominate themselves or their peers to serve as a panelist. To be considered for the 2016 cycle please complete the panelist interest form before Friday, June 26. Learn more and apply.
