Help Fort Collins Create a “Creative Industries Director" Position!

If you would like to see the “Creative Industries Director" position created and finally have sustainable, on-going support for our growing arts community, then please share your voice. You’d be surprised how effective each voice can be to our politicians and City Leaders!!  Here’s a short list of ways to express yourself during the budget process and be heard by City Leaders.

1. Visit http://www.fcgov.com/citymanager/budget.php now.  Here you can create your own budget and leave comments. City staff will compile reports from input received on the website in mid-July and again on August 19th, so comments are valuable now and again in August.

2. Contact City Leaders directly.

City Manager, Deputy and Assistant City Managers and other City staff are reviewing and determining a recommended budget over the next month to present to City Council.

Contact City Council:
Its never too early to start letting Council know your thoughts. You can email or attend a listening session that several council members host for their constituents. Listening sessions are posted on the City’s Calendar of events on the home page or http://www.fcgov.com/events/ .You can find Council emails at http://www.fcgov.com/council/  or email all of Council and the City Manager at once: cityleaders@fcgov.com

City Council: Council will have their first work session on the budget on August 9th and continue till approval on November 1 (see schedule below).

3. Attend a City Council Public Hearing on the budget and share your support in person during public input (3 minutes each!). Meetings are held at City Hall starting at 6pm.  Visit http://www.fcgov.com/cityclerk/agendas.php the Thursday before the meeting to see the published agenda with times, materials, and info.

Pubic Input can be made at these meetings:
