Larimer SCFD Call to Action!

Support the Larimer County Scientific and Cultural District (SCFD). Our petition is in the hands of the Larimer County Clerk to verify the language and format of the sections. We should have them to distribute within days.

WE HAVE ONLY TWO MONTHS REMAINING TO GATHER SIGNATURES!

It is critical that we succeed in gathering between 9,000 and 10,000 valid signatures from across Larimer County before the middle of July. This means that all of us must commit to the effort!! Our Leadership Group has representation from Estes Park, Loveland, Berthoud and Fort Collins. We have been meeting twice each month since last summer and we have designed a funding mechanism very similar to the highly successful Denver SCFD. This will be a dedicated revenue stream for ALL of the museums, galleries and performance troupes throughout the County regardless of size. Every community gets their share and every citizen gains access to reduced admissions, enhanced programs and educational outreach for Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Cultural History, Natural History and Natural Science.

Interested in Helping promote the arts in Larimer County?  Then COMMIT to this effort. Be MOTIVATED - hustle and set high goals. RECRUIT others to help circulate the petitions. (They also must complete all 7 steps listed below.) INSPIRE them with your own dedication and drive. Take the petition with you at all times! NEVER miss an opportunity to ask registered voters to sign!

Go to one of these locations and check out one or more petition sections. (Be persistent! The petitions are not there yet.)You will be given instructions and talking points. Commit to filling each section (50 signatures).

Attend every opportunity for a gathering of Larimer County citizens – Farmers Markets; 5-K runs; youth sporting events; art openings and performances; hang out in front of the grocery store; anywhere you have potential to approach registered voters across Larimer County.

Get your staff and Board of Directors and family and co-workers to sign your petition. Sign the petition yourself BUT not the one you are circulating. Sign one that your friend is circulating.
Notarized petition packets with signatures must be turned in at any of these locations no later than Friday July 15, 2016.
Vote “YES” for the SCFD on November 8, 2016.
