Local Artist Bob Coonts at the Fort Collins Museum of Art

The Fort Collins Museum of Art invites you to step into the amazing color-filled world of Bob Coonts. Opening Friday, November 20, this exhibition explores the last eight years of creativity from this beloved Fort Collins artist. In addition to his artistic work, Bob Coonts was also an inspirational teacher and mentor. This exhibition also celebrates his decades of teaching and service with a display of 20 artists and graphic designers that Bob mentored and taught through his business Bob Coonts Graphic Design, Inc  and his thirty-five years as an Affiliate Faculty member at Colorado State University. The exhibition is on display at the Fort Collins Museum of Art through January 10, 2016.

The exhibition features more than 60 original paintings, sculptures and sketchbooks, a Guide by Cell audio tour of select artworks in the exhibition and kid-friendly labels so the entire family can have fun in the exhibition.

Be sure to visit our new ART.EDU.OSITY hands-on education center during this exhibition as we will have new art projects and interactive activities for all age groups where you can learn about color, shape and form through the artwork of Bob Coonts. Bob Coonts will lead a guided tour through the exhibition on Wednesday, December 9 at Noon and Saturday, December 26 at 1pm. Gary Hixon Designs and Vom Fass will sponsor an Open Admission Day for the exhibition on Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, January 9. About Bob Coonts
In 1963, Bob Coonts earned a Bachelors of Arts degree with a concentration in graphic design and painting from Colorado State University, where he served as affiliate faculty from 1971- 2006. To enrich his years of experience and previous education, Coonts steeped himself in workshops, seminars and classes during the 1990’s.
