To support Arts Education Leadership Institute: INterCHANGE. The professional development project for classroom teachers will incorporate contemporary and traditional practices in the folk arts in Colorado into their curricula and school culture. The institute will feature artists whose work draws from traditional and contemporary cultural frameworks and highlight Native American artists. Invited speakers and artist-led workshops will demonstrate to teachers how students can combine their own personal tradition and contemporary visual culture in their artmaking and interdisciplinary learning. Teachers who attend as part of a school team will have time to discuss together how to incorporate understandings gained in the institute into their school's curricula and environment
