ARTS IN SOCIETY GRANTS Project grants for non-profits

Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, Hemera Foundation and Colorado Creative Industries in partnership with RedLine Contemporary Art Center are excited to announce Arts in Society. Through this partnership we seek to build capacity for social practice projects that implement artistic excellence to engage social issues in communities across Colorado.

The grant program replaces former Colorado Creates project grants and eligible applicants include nonprofits and individuals. Average grant sizes will range between $10,000 - $50,000 and will be awarded to 15 - 25 artists, arts organizations, or other nonprofit groups per year during the 2017-2018 two-year pilot period. November: Applicants invited to submit full proposals
January 16, 2017: Full proposals due

What could you do??

Pianos About Town is looking for artists and organizations who can use piano parts, after they've been decommissioned from the program. Many parts can be creatively re-used for art projects, take apart days, or maker spaces. We have hammers, keys, sound boards, etc.
Come see what we have and pick up parts by appointment.

Final Week to Paint!

We need your help!  Help is needed to paint the mural for the windows of the Historic Fort Collins Carnegie Library (Community Creative Center).  Please come to the CCC, 200 Mathews Street, Fort Collins THIS WEEK Wednesday, Sept 21-Saturday, Sept 24 12-6pm daily.  This is simple 'paint-by-numbers kind of work.  We have the whole thing mapped put and now all we need is some helping hands to finish it up.  For more information, visit the "Flowers Lead to Fruit" Facebook page.  See you there!

Learn Dyeing and Printing with Natural Plant Materials with the BEST!

Fort Collins Artists Ayn Hanna and Barbara Gilhooly invite you to a workshop in their home. Experience the magic and surprise of color and mark that can be achieved on cloth through the alchemy of water, plant materials, heat, and metal. While many natural dye workshops teach about either natural plant dyes OR printing with plants, in this workshop you will learn about BOTH dyeing with natural plant dyes AND printing with natural plant materials.

Panel Discussion: Planning an Exhibit

About the event:
On Thursday, September 22nd, Artworks is holding a discussion with experts about how to plan your art exhibition. The evening will include a Q & A and a casual discussion with a panel of artists and experts.

Some points that will be covered:
- the process of curating artwork
- building a portfolio that appeals to jurors
- reasons why artists should enter a juried, group, or solo show
- reasons applications not accepted
- other helpful tips for artists preparing for gallery exhibits

Panel experts include:
- Johnny Plastini, Art Professor, Colorado State University
- Maureen Corey, Loveland Museum/Gallery Curator
- Joanne Kirves, Executive Director, Longmont Arts
- Dr. Andrew Svedlow, Art Professor, University of Northern Colorado

Audition for Loveland Opera

Loveland Opera Theatre is looking for men to sing in out upcoming production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.. LOT is also actively seeking kids that sing and dance in the Northern Colorado Area for The Merry Wives of Windsor.  Children will be costumed as insects and moths in the Act III forest scene, and will be featured throughout the opera.
