Debut Theatre Company Presents: The Canterville Ghost

Truth be told, my daughter is in this Production of The Canterville Ghost.  Our family has loved Debut Theatre Company since we moved to Fort Collins six years ago.  The first production we saw was Pollyanna.  It was just what we needed after living in a house while we were renovating....Pollyanna's 'Can do' attitude got us through!  Since then we have tried to see every Debut production.  My top three?  Pollyanna (of course), The Witch of Blackbird Pond, and Little Women.  Take your kids and go see this live theatre production!

Canterville Manor has a ghost problem. Rather, Sir Simon, Canterville’s resident ghost, has a problem: His house has become infested with…Americans! Despite 400 years of experience rattling doorknobs, howling through keyholes, and terrifying housemaids, these Americans don’t even have the decency to be scared.

His name was once whispered in fear, but now, with these wretched foreigners invading his home, none of Sir Simon’s tricks can force them to leave! They’ve cleaned up the mysterious spot on the floor, they’ve oiled his chains and now they want to sell his best suit of armor! What’s a proper English ghost to do? Maybe if he asks for help from a few spectral friends… Just in time for Halloween, Debut Theatre Company brings life to Oscar Wilde’s classic story, The Canterville Ghost, a beloved tale about life and death – and why love is stronger than both.

Review of Winchester Holiday / Goodnight, Texas concert at the Swing Station

Tonight (Monday Oct 6) I attended the Winchester Holiday / Goodnight, Texas concert at the Swing Station in Laporte.
Winchester is a local 5-man band. However, tonight the Cecil Brother's Dad joined them on stage as well. The combination was fun and energetic. They have a new 5 song EP out which I can't wait to hear as they perform some luscious harmonies. I don't believe they played any songs off the EP tonight thought. They played several of their better known songs including "Teklanika" which had everyone on their feet. There were several other songs which I enjoyed, but don't know the names of yet.
Goodnight is a 4-person band out of San Francisco having the best Monday ever. They switched genres and instruments with almost every song. Individually their voices are matched to their songs, but they also do great 2, 3, and 4 part harmonies. I enjoyed their set & interesting/fun lyrics. I will be looking for them again in the next time they are in town. Their final song (or 12 depending on how you count) was a great medley of 60's hits.
